Mircea Popescu is said to have owned 1 million Bitcoin. Others assumed that it was "only" a few tens of thousands.

The circumstances of his death
He drowned at Playa Hermosa. According to witnesses, he ran out at low tide and then was washed away by the tide. He died at the age of 41 and his death now raises some questions.
